Wednesdays 1st and 15th

Santoft Forest Night Mountain biking Trials with Manawatu Mountain Bike Club.  Registration from 6.15pm.  Race starts 7pm. Entry is $5 per race.  Open to all competent riders.  Entrants need good night lights.  Contact Colin or Raewyn for further information (06) 323 5230.

Mayor Shadbolt and Gary McCormick Comedy Show at Mothered Goose, Bulls. 3-course meal included. Tickets available from Mothered Goose, cnr SH1 and High St, Bulls or contact (06) 322 1330.

Father’s Day Kite Day at Ohakea Air Force Base from 10am-3pm.  Also featuring Kites Association wind-driven kite buggies.  Contact Denise (06) 356 9109. 

Rangitikei Gorges to Sea Cycleways Event 1 ‘Pemberton Trail’ Come and celebrate the opening of the Rangitikei Cycleways trails 2-4 taking you into the fabulous Rangitikei back country.  Event 1 (Trail 2) is 53km from Mangaweka to Vinegar Hill.  Meet at Mangaweka Domain 9.30am for a start at 10am.  Entry forms and other details available on www.rangitikei.com  Look out for Events 2 and 3 in October and November respectively.

Arcadian Singers Variety Concert ‘Winter Cheer’ 2pm at St David’s Church, Taihape.  Adults $18.00; children free.  Tickets from choir members or at the door.

An Evening with the Bard at Huntley School. Shakespeare with a fun twist. Tickets $5 from the school office, Wanganui Rd, Marton, or (06) 327 8049.

Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Ball at Memorial Hall, Wellington Rd, Marton at 7.30pm.Tickets single $70, double $120 from Hayman’s Paper Plus and Westpac  in Marton, in Bulls from Platt’s Pharmacy, and in Hunterville, from Hunterville Trading Co.

Sunday 12th and Sunday 26th

Steam Engine Sundays See the Overlander pulled by steam engine between Feilding and Taihape return every Sunday to October 10th. Tuesday 21st – Thursday 23rd

Clifton School Production “The Art of Fiction” at Bulls Town Hall.   Matinee performance on 21st. 10am-11.30 am  also Wed 22 – Thurs –23 6.30 – 8.00pm.  Ticket prices to be advised.  Contact Clifton School (06) 322 1544.
