Council contenders throw hats in the ring

29 people have thrown their hats in the ring as candidates in the upcoming local government elections to be held on Saturday 9 October 2010.

When the deadline for nominations passed at midday today there were:

One nomination for Mayor

Twenty one nominations for Councillor

Seven nominations for community boards

Mr Warwick Lampp says he is thrilled with the level of interest from the community.
