Asset Management Plans are a foundation for the LTCCP. They are continually updated to reflect new information (from maintenance checks, condition surveys and events) and Council decisions (including funding). The documents available below are those which were adopted as part of the LTCCP process.
At its meeting on 1 December 2011, SP&P resolved as follows (11/SPP/122):
That the Asset Management Plans relating to the Roading, Water supply, Stormwater drainage, Sewerage and the treatment and disposal of sewage and Leisure and Community Assets Groups of Activities as at 30 June 2011 be adopted as the draft plans that will be made public and that will inform the preparation of the budgets for the initial draft of the 2012/22 LTP.
The attached plans are the comprehensive set provided to the Council's auditors. There is a common 'Corporate Requirements Plan' which serves as the introduction to all of the plans. Each plan has a Part A and a Part B. Part A cover the asset in a general way. Part B provides more detail. For example in Water Part B, details each of Council's schemes.
When documents come up for consultation you will find links to them here. They links will also be available on the homepage and the consultation page of the site.
The District Plan is a statutory document under the Resource Management Act 1991 that contains the rules governing development in the District, and what type of activities may take place in particular areas. The Plan also states the key resource management issues for the District, and the objectives and policies for managing those issues.
The Rangitikei District Council has undertaken a review of the current District Plan. A review of the Plan is required under the Resource Management Act 1991 to occur at least once every 10 years.
The topics the review focused on were outstanding landscapes, historic heritage, natural hazards, renewable energy and subdivision development and control. A key driver of the review was to streamline and simplify the District Plan, while also covering all statutory requirements. Initial submissions to the proposed plan closed on 28 January 2011.
Further submissions were requested between 2 May 2011 to 4pm on 16 May 2011.
