A dedicated welfare helpline to assist with local access to household goods and services such as food, water, clothing and bedding is now available. Freephone 0800 725 678 - 7am until 7pm, seven days a week. This service is for people not able to make arrangements through their own support networks.

Public Participation Process for Proposed Changes to the District Plan 2016

Submission period

A number of public meetings were held throughout the District to discuss the proposed changes. The submission period closed at 5pm on 4 April 2016.

Public notice of decisions requested by submitters

Further submission were made in support of, or opposition to, submissions already made.

The further submission period closed 4pm 22 April 2016.

Pre-hearing meetings

Pre-hearing meetings will be held with submitters during April to clarify/resolve issues prior to the hearing.

Public hearing

Submitters can give a verbal submission for the commissioner to consider.

Decision

Decisions will be publicly notified and letters sent to all submitters.

Environment Court

Environmental Court appeal rights for submitters if they disagree with the decision.
