To support the Districts health by minimising the harm to communities. The policy applies to applicants seeking Council consent to establish a Class 4 venue, relocate an existing venue and merge existing venues together. Reason for the Proposal The Gambling Venue (Class 4) policy is a statutory requirement under Section 103(5) of the Gambling Act 2003. Under the Act, Council is required to review the policy at least every three years. In determining its policy, the territorial authority must have regard to the social impact of gambling with the district.
