Council Services under Alert Level 2

Our Council facilities are open across the District at Covid Level 2 but with some restrictions in place.

Physical distancing and good hygiene is a must for the safety of our community and staff. Please follow directions and guidelines from our staff when entering our facilities.

Please contact our Customer Experience team in the first instance for all enquiries.

Please be patient and kind as we adhere to Alert Level 2 rules. We will keep you updated with any changes as they occur.


Marton and Taihape Swim centres are now open for the 2021/22 season.

However, due to COVID Level 2 restrictions, social distancing regulations do apply so please ring ahead to book use of pool and changing room facilities to avoid waiting delays.

Te Matapihi, Marton Library and Taihape Library, Information & Service Centre

  • Where permitted occupancy numbers allow for 100 persons or more, the maximum number allowed inside these facilities is 100 people, providing that physical distancing requirements can be maintained.
  • People are asked to scan the COVID Tracer QR Code or fill in our register on entry.
  • The use of masks or face covering is mandatory for those over 12 years. However, there are exemptions for those people who are unable to wear a mask or face covering safely for health reasons.
  • 2 metres physical distancing from people you do not know is required at all times.

Te Matapihi - Bulls Community Centre, Taihape Library, Information & Service Centre
and Marton Library
opening normal hours from Monday 1 November - no longer closing from 12.30-1.30pm.


Council Halls

Council halls will reopen and bookings are only allowed with the following rules in place:

  • Where permitted occupancy numbers allow for 100 persons or more, the maximum number allowed inside these facilities is 100 people, providing that physical distancing requirements can be maintained.
  • People are asked to scan the COVID Tracer QR Code or fill in our register on entry.

Compliance checking may be conducted by NZ Police.

Waste Transfer StationsOPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS

Waste Transfer Stations will operate normal opening hours and operations (including recycling) with the required safety protocols in place.

Please be aware there could be delays entering the premises so be patient and observe the road rules.

Eftpos only (No Cash).
Hunterville and Rātana where there is no Eftpos facility in place, staff will be collecting details of customers so they can be invoiced the cost at a later date or alternatively pay via internet banking.

Kerbside CollectionsOPENWill continue as normal. Services operated by private companies.
