This page has been created as a useful resource for our business community to find the latest business support from Government and innovative solutions from fellow kiwis as we work to pull through COVID-19 together.

Rangitikei District Council is working closely with our regional economic development agencies and with Government. We periodically send out links to surveys so that the decision makers can hear directly from you. Your input helps to shape the Government’s response and ensures that the needs of Rangitikei are captured. If you would like your business to be on the email list please send a request to nardia.gower@rangitikei.govt.nz

Financial support that every business in Rangitikei needs to be aware of:

  • The Government has removed the $150,000 cap on its wage subsidy scheme, so that all employers can now access the full payments to subsidise each of their workers’ salaries.
  • NZTE’s regional business partner network has made $5000 available in fully funded support for all businesses to cover costs relating to HR, health & wellness, business continuity planning, cashflow and finance. To access the funding, you will need to register on the Regional Business Partner portal and have a remote meeting with your local Regional Growth Adviser.
    See www.regionalbusinesspartners.co.nz
  • The Government has announced it will provide interest free loans for a year to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 economic shock to support their immediate cashflow needs. The Small Business Cashflow Loan Scheme will provide assistance of up to $100,000 to firms employing 50 or fewer full time equivalent employees. Loans will be interest free if they are paid back within a year. After that, the interest rate will be 3% for a maximum term of five years. Repayments are not required for the first two years. Applications will open on 12 May and be managed by Inland Revenue.
See the official Government announcement of 1 May for more detail.
