Marton Community Charter

This Charter was established to ensure that “Every child in our community grows into an adult who knows their worth and is able to take their place confidently in the world.”

In order to achieve this vision, the Charter brings together community-based leadership (Iwi and the Rangitīkei District Council) in equal partnership with funding bodies from central government (Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Education, Whanganui District Health Board and NZ Police).

The Charter has identified the type and range of services that will meet the needs of the local community and is working to achieve that mix, sustainably within existing resource constraints.

These include:

  • Te Kotuku Hauora
  • Jigsaw Whanganui
  • The Marton Youth Club
  • Marton and Districts Budget Service
  • Counselling Centre, Marton
  • Marton and Surrounds ICT Hubs
  • Project Marton
