Pavement testing - Broadway, Marton

Downer NZ are planning to undertake pavement testing on the roundabout located between Broadway and Wellington Road on Sunday, 19 July between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. A stop/go operation will be implemented to enable the workers to undertake the test pits on areas around the roundabout and traffic will be held for short periods at a time in each direction.

Local Government (System Improvements) Amendment Bill

Changes the purpose of local government (move from wellbeing to the cost-effective provision of local infrastructure, local public services and regulatory functions), publicising council performance, prioritising core services.

Legislative stage: Awaiting second reading.

Level of certainty: High, will be law before the election. Subject to change if the Government changes.
