There is a $200 refundable bond to the bike fleet.
Note: The bikes are only available for hire by Rangitikei Community Organisations & Schools and for use within the Rangitikei District only, not for individual use.
Procedures and Conditions of Hire*
The trailer is only available for hire by Rangitikei local schools and community organisations and for use within the Rangitikei District only, not for individual use.
Please read and agree to the following procedures and conditions when making a booking.
To confirm your booking, please read and agree to the following procedures and conditions:
- All relevant information and hire forms will be returned to and confirmed by a Rangitikei District Council staff member prior to pick-up of the bike fleet.
- Bike fleet bookings must be made a minimum of three (3) days prior to hire date(s) (unless a shorter lead in period is approved). Maximum time of hire of the bike fleet is one week. Earliest cancellation of booking is preferred where practical.
- An appointment (between 9am - 4pm weekdays) is to be made for the pick-up and return of the bike fleet at ??
46 High Street,Marton. The bike fleet must be picked up and returned by the individual/group making the booking. Please allow time for an inventory check with a Rangitīkei District staff member at the time of pick-up and drop-off. - The hirer is responsible for looking after the bike fleet and equipment during their hire period. This includes ensuring the bike fleet is fully locked and secured at all times when not in use.
- In the event of the bike fleet or any equipment being lost, stolen or damaged, including beyond repair, the hirer will be responsible for any repair and/or replacement costs.
- All incidents relating to the bike fleet, equipment, and persons are to be reported to Rangitīkei District Council using the Incident Report Form which will be provided to hirers prior to use. Rangitīkei District Council will not be held responsible for any injury or damage to hirers or their property.
- The person responsible for towing the bike fleet trailer must use a roadworthy vehicle which would achieve a WoF and registration on the day of hireage and agrees to comply with all NZ laws as specified in the NZ road code. Drivers should have experience towing a trailer and must show a valid and full drivers’ license at the time of pick-up.
- All equipment is to be returned clean and tidy.
- The bike fleet is available for hire by local schools and community organisations, not for individual use.
