National Environmental Standard for Plantation Forestry

The Ministry for Primary Industries has proposed a National Environmental Standard for Plantation Forestry. Council has lodged a submission on the proposed standard to the Ministry.

The proposed standard would replace the local and regional rules, providing a uniform set of rules plantation forestry would be required to comply with throughout New Zealand. Council acknowledges the benefits of the proposed approach, however, has identified numerous areas where further consideration is required.
