Community Committees and Reserve Management Committees

Nominations for the Rangitikei District’s Community Committees and Reserves Management Committees closed at 12pm (noon) Friday 4 November 2016. The number of nominations received is:
Turakina Community Committee 7
Bulls Community Committee 13
Marton Community Committee 8
Hunterville Community Committee 7
Turakina Reserve Management Committee 4
McIntyre Reserve Management Committee 9
Public meetings for the Bulls Community Committee and McIntyre Reserve Management Committee are needed to conduct a secret ballot because the number of nominations exceeds the required number of members.
In relation to the Bulls Community Committee, at least 20 people who are registered electors in the Bulls Ward must be present within ten minutes of the notified start time for the proceedings to be valid. The Council’s Deputy Electoral Officer will have the current rolls available for inspection at the meeting.
Only those people who are registered electors in the Bulls Ward are eligible to vote in the secret ballot. Each such person will be provided with a numbered ballot paper to complete and deposit in a ballot box. The Deputy Electoral Officer will declare the ballot closed when all eligible persons present have cast their vote. A provisional result of the secret ballot is normally provided to the meeting unless there is a very large number of ballot papers to be counted.
In relation to the McIntyre Reserve Management Committee, at least 8 people who are resident within 25km of Ohingaiti must be present within ten minutes of the notified start time for the proceedings to be valid. The Council’s Deputy Electoral Officer will have maps available for inspection at the meeting.
