Council offices and the Marton Community Hub will be closing at 12:30pm on Friday 19 December. If you need to come and see us for anything, please do so before then, or hold on until we reopen again on Monday. You can still call us on 0800 422 522 to log Requests for Service.

Commemoration Planting "Matariki Tu Rākau" Open Day Marton Dams

Commemoration Planting Day to acknowledge and thank NZ Forestry's Matariki Tu Rākau fund which provided 5,000 native eco-sourced plants for Marton B & C Dams.

Saturday 20th July 2019 11am - 1pm - all welcome

Matariki Tu Rākau is about helping communities plant living memorials honouring our New Zealand Defence Force members, past and present.

The planting will begin with a few short words to mark the day, followed by a planting, BBQ and short walk for those that want to see more of the area being planted. Please bring a spade and gumboots. We'll provide water and a sausage for lunch.

There is limited car parking available so please car share wherever possible, and if you're mobile, you're more than welcome to park at the Marton Treatment Plant and walk down or we can pick you up and ferry you down to the planting.
