Level One Water Restrictions implemented for Taihape and Marton

February 18, 2020

Due to ongoing very dry weather and high water use, water restrictions will be implemented in Taihape.

Restrictions will now apply to Marton and Taihape – the rest of the District is still okay, but all residents are encouraged to reduce water use.

From today Council is implementing the following water restrictions. The imposed are:

Level 1 - Only handheld hose watering of gardens is allowed between 4pm and 8pm, daily. There will be a complete ban on the use of sprinklers at any time of the day.

Given the weather forecast, Level 1 restrictions will be in place immediately.

Updates will be given regularly. Further restrictions will be implemented if necessary.
