Rangitīkei District is now in a PROHIBITED Fire Season.

Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ) have declared from 8am Wednesday 12 February all of the Rangitīkei District will move into a PROHIBITED Fire Season.

A Prohibited Fire Season means there is a total ban on the lighting of any fires in open air.

Nearby district Manawatu and Palmerston North will also move to PROHIBITED Fire Season.
