The Hautapu River Park Collective will be hosting a Commemorative Planting Day on Saturday 7 August.

“Commemorating Early Leadership in the Inland Patea History”, the planting of 2000 native plants, bought with funding from Ministry Primary Industries, celebrates Tamakōpiri, descended from Tamatea Pokai Whenua and his wife Taanewhare.

Ngāti Tamakopiri, Friends of Taihape and supporters, have joined forces to enhance and beautify Taihape’s Hautapu River Park. Come along and be part of a fun family day with purpose. Children’s activities, an informative walk through the park and BBQ lunch are included.

9.30am - Welcome and karakia
1pm finish (approx.) followed by lunch

Volunteers are asked to please bring gumboots and spades.
