Pukenaua Road is now open.

KiwiRail are continuing repairs to the bridge structure this week under engineering guidance so that the scaffolding will be able to coming down by the close of work on Friday 19 March 2021.

Pukenaua Road is expected to re-open on Friday evening.

The Pukanaua Road overbridge, which is a rail bridge north of Taihape, was damaged on Monday, 8 March 2021 by a truck and digger and needs to be repaired.

Unfortunately this means the road will be closed to through traffic while this work is being done, expected to be one month.
