Kaumātua flats in Rātana get renovations
October 05, 2022
With new interior paint, new carpet and lino, new kitchen units and bathroom vanities, we’re delighted to hear that residents of the Kaumātua flats in Rātana are finding their homes cosy, clean, light, bright and a lot more comfortable. The residents were a key part of the renovations; choosing the flooring and kitchen unit colours and helping to ensure that the updates reflected how they wanted their home to look and feel. The Rātana Communal Board secured Seamer House as temporary accommodation for the residents while renovations were underway, while Jamie Nepia from the Rātana Community Board made sure they had the support needed to move while the renovations were underway.
This project has been so successful due to the collaboration between Council, Rātana Communal Board, Jamie Nepia from the Rātana Community Board, residents and local contractors. A massive thank you to everyone involved for making this possible.
