Council have been informed that there has been a tornado at Dudding Lake. Emergency services and Council staff are responding to assess damage in the area. Please avoid the area until otherwise advised. We will keep people updated as more information comes to hand. More information >

Watermain renewal (Mataroa Road/SH1) - Taihape

Approximately 400 meters of steel water pipe is being replaced on Mataroa Road/State Highway 1 in Taihape between now and February 2025.

The work will be taking place from the intersection of Linnet Street to the Gumboot Statue (opposite The Bottle-O) and is expected to take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

During this time, there will be some disruptions to traffic and pedestrians, and there will be water shutdowns when required.

Nearby residents will be informed of any water shutdowns in advance of them happening via letter drops, and we will provide updates on our website.
