Conserve Water Notice to remain in place

UPDATE - Monday 10 November

We ask Marton residents to continue to conserve water for at least the next day or two.

Conserve Water Notice issued in Marton

ISSUED - Friday 7 November

Due to seasonal changes in raw water quality, it is currently very difficult to keep the plant operating efficiently and meeting usual demand. Our Water team has been working tirelessly (including 24-hour shifts this week!) to maintain supply.

To help reduce demand, please:

  • Avoid watering lawns and gardens unnecessarily
  • Delay washing vehicles or water-blasting
  • Take shorter showers and save water where you can.

Small changes at home and work can make a big difference in helping maintain the water supply for everyone in Marton.

We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation. Updates will be shared here and on Rangitīkei District Council Facebook page as the situation develops.
