Rangitīkei District Council to transition to Objective Build as its new Building Consent Authority software
Rangitīkei District Council to transition to Objective Build as its new Building Consent Authority software
August 21, 2025

Objective Build is an end-to-end digital solution designed to simplify and streamline every stage of the building consent process. We will be transitioning over the coming days for a launch on Monday, 25 August.
Whether you're a first-time builder or a seasoned developer, the platform makes it easy to submit applications, book inspections, receive real-time updates from Council—such as which building inspector is assigned—and track key milestones like construction start dates and completed inspections.
Objective Build offers a centralised hub for communication, helping bring greater transparency, efficiency, and ease to the building process to those looking to grow and develop Rangitīkei.
Objective Build also offers the ability to template frequently used applications across multiple projects. If work extends into Manawatū or Palmerston North City, developers will benefit from a single Objective Build account that works seamlessly across this part of the region.
"We are excited to partner with Objective to deliver a more seamless, consistent, and transparent experience.
“Working towards a seamless platform across this part of the region is an added bonus”. Says Rangitīkei District Council Group Manager Regulatory & Emergency Management, Johan Cullis.
Active applications will continue to be processed through Simpli until approved, at which time the inspections for these will be transitioned to Objective.
To support with the transition, no building consents will be able to be lodged from 12pm Friday 22 August-12pm Monday 25 August.
More information on the transition, including frequently asked questions and a how-to guide for lodging a consent application can be found here or the Objective Build help centre.
