Ngā Awa Block Maintenance

Maintenance work is taking place on the public toilet and shower facilities of the Nga Awa Block from Monday 13 April until Wednesday 22 April. During this time, the referee changing rooms will be available for use between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00pm.

ANZAC Day on 25th April is the opportunity to honour and remember those that have served in the armed services or supported the country during the First and Second World Wars, as well as subsequent events such as the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

For 2026, there will be three dawn parades taking place across the Rangitīkei District as well as other services.

The ANZAC services will take place as follows:

  • Marton – Dawn Parade and Service – 5.55am sharp outside BJW Motors, Wellington Road.
    Please gather by 5.45am, where our Parade Marshal Colonel Bede Fahey will instruct o forming up; ready to march off at 5.55am.
    Marton RSA invites ALL groups to join with us on this special day of remembrance. Light refreshments served int he hall after the parade. No charge.
    At 7.30am there will be a cooked breakfast available at Aunty's Cafe & Grill, cnr Broadway and Hammond Street, in conjunction with Anton's Bar. All those who attended the Dawn Parade are welcome to join us for breakfast - $10 per person.
    Public are reminded to have at least a warm drink before leaving home, and to be prepared with warm clothing.

  • Marton - Mount View Cemetery - 9am
    At 9am there will be a brief graveside service at the RSA section.
    Please allow plenty of time to parking (off-road parking only).

  • Marton Cenotaph – 2pm – Wreath-laying ceremony at Marton Park.
    Our ANZAC DAY Cenotaph Service will commence at 2pm in front of the WW1 Cenotaph in Marton Park. Service will be conducted by Rev. Robin Peirce; Bugler Mr Barry Williams. All are very welcome (Limited seating).

  • Taihape - Dawn Parade and Service – 6am. Service at the cenotaph with parade march to town hall.
    Members of the RSA are to form up opposite the Town Hall at 5.45am. On conclusion of the service all those attending are invited to the Workingmen's Club for breakfast.

  • Turakina Cenotaph – 10am at Turakina School.
    The Turakina ceremony commences at 10am with a community service followed by an outside memorial at the Cenotaph at Turakina School. All welcome for a shared morning tea afterwards at the school.

  • Bulls – Dawn Parade and Service – 6am at the Cenotaph
    Dawn Parade, Fall in will be at 5.45am outside the RSA on High Street, Dawn Service will be at 6am at the Cenotaph.Breakfast following the service at the RSA will be at 7am - $10 per person.

  • Bess at Bulls – 9am
    Service to be held up the hill at the Bess memorial on Forest Road.
  • Hunterville – Dawn Service

  • Ōhingaiti - 10.30am
    Details yet to be confirmed.

  • Mangaweka - 5:45am
    Details yet to be confirmed.
