We're looking for nominations for people who you believe have contributed significantly in the areas of community service, welfare, sport and recreation, culture, arts and the education sector. There will be four awards overall, including a Mayor's Recognition Award.

The Community Volunteer Award panel, chaired by Mayor Andy Watson, will consider all the nomination received and narrow that list down to four overall winners, which includes the Mayor's Recognition Award.

“Communities like ours are incredibly reliant on the generosity of volunteers who sacrifice time with their own families to make things happen that otherwise wouldn’t. We have so many people who go above and beyond for others, and whilst they don’t do it for the recognition, we believe it’s important that they are. It’s a small token of our appreciation for their efforts to make Rangitikei a home," says Mayor Andy.

This year, the winners will receive their awards in person from Council representatives at a location of their choice and will be provided a morning or afternoon tea with their friends and whānau.

The nomination period is now open and the form can be accessed here.
