You can play a quick round or take your time, it’s up to you.

What is disc golf?

Disc golf is played a bit like traditional golf, but instead of hitting a ball into a hole, you throw a disc (similar to a frisbee) into a basket.

The aim is simple: get from the tee to the basket in as few throws as possible.

It’s easy to learn, low-cost, and a great activity for families, friends, or anyone wanting to get active outdoors.

Why we’ve added it

The Taihape Disc Golf Course was a community led initiative, and responds to growing demand for free, accessible activities in our rural towns and villages.

It’s designed to:

  • encourage people to get active
  • make better use of our parks and open spaces
  • provide something new and different to enjoy in Taihape
