We look forward to personally meeting with you and welcoming you to our District. There's lots of information on our website about services provided in our region. Many services are free and will help you settle in if you're new to the area, or New Zealand.

Nestled along State Highway 1, our District is comprised of five main townships - Bulls, Marton, Taihape, Mangaweka, and Hunterville - and proudly serves as the gateway to the central and lower North Island.

We can’t wait for you to discover the charm of our small-town living, close-knit communities, and affordable lifestyle. We encourage you to settle in, embrace the laid-back atmosphere, and experience life as it should be.

Based in rural New Zealand, we take pride in our traditions and skills. You'll encounter some of the world's finest sheep shearers, gumboot throwers, sheepdog trialists, and highland heavy weights right here in our District.

From the rural community of Moawhango in the north to the lively "Inn" crowd at Scotts Ferry in the south, we welcome you to our beautiful rohe (district).
