The District Plan Change 2016 is now almost complete. There were no appeals received on the decision and the Plan Change will become fully operative 14 November 2016. The Plan Change makes a number of changes to the District Plan which will increase its ease of use including; removal of the liquefaction, ground shaking, landslide and active fault overlays and associated rules, amendment of flooding provisions to increase consistency with the One Plan, reducing the 20 metre building setback to 5 metres (does not include dwelling setback) and amendment to heritage provisions.

There were no appeals lodged with the Environment Court. The amended provisions became fully operative on 14 November 2016.
