We're looking for an organised, customer-focused Finance Officer - Payables to help ensure Council's finances are managed accurately while contributing to continuous improvement across our finance processes.
You'll play an important role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, supporting the financial integrity of Council. You'll also have opportunities to work across a variety of finance activities and build strong relationships throughout the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Processing supplier invoices, purchase orders, credit card transactions and payments accurately and efficiently
- Supporting treasury and finance administration activities
- Building positive working relationships with suppliers and Council staff to ensure prompt resolution of enquiries
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute ideas that make the Finance team even better
What you'll bring
- Experience in working with numbers and maintaining accuracy
- Pride in providing excellent customer service
- Ability to be organised and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- An analytical approach and financial literacy skills
- A willingness to learn new systems and improve processes
- A preference for working collaboratively within a supportive team and has a customer-first mindset
Experience with ledger accounts would be an advantage, but more importantly, you will be organised, willing to learn, comfortable working with systems, and committed to providing helpful and reliable service.
