Reticulation Technician/Cadet $32 to $38 per hour

Are you looking to build your career as a Reticulation Technician?
In this role, you will be working as part of an experienced team, responsible for repairing utility mains, installing service pipes, replacing meters, water shutdowns and minor infrastructure upgrades for our district.

You're a team player with a flexible, enthusiastic, "can do" attitude. You are self-motivated and happy to use your initiative to get the job done.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Reticulation Technician to hit the ground running. However, we are just as happy to bring someone on board (who is a team player with a strong work ethic) looking to start a career in the 3 waters industry as a cadet. All training will be provided.

This role will be included in a roster for afterhours on call duties and weekend work.

This is a full-time permanent role and based at our Marton King Street Depot, however, travel throughout the district will be required as part of your role.

Āu ake mahi | What you will do

  • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance works including temporary and permanent repairs
  • Co-ordinate and collate all Local Government Official Information Act (LGOIMA) requests and ensure legislative requirements and deadlines are met
  • Ensure relevant work programs are delivered in an exemplary manner
  • Operate heavy machinery to undertake works
  • Provide detailed information on assets, operating electronic data collection tools

Desirable:

  • National Certificate Reticulation or prepared to study towards this qualification
  • 3 years' experience with water, wastewater and storm water reticulation maintenance
Essential
  • Current full driver's license and experience with 4wd utes and farm bikes
  • A strong team player with proven ability to work well with and interact successfully with other people
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and software
  • Role can be physically demanding at times so a base level of fitness is required
