A Strategic Advisor for Youth position has become available within the Policy Team based in Marton.

We are looking for a Strategic Advisor for Youth who is passionate about Youth Development! We need you to contribute to the development and implementation of Council’s strategic framework, ensure effective engagement with the community on Council’s plans and initiatives, oversee delivery of programmes to targeted groups within the community and provide relevant and timely policy advice to elected members.

What you will bring to the position:

  • An understanding of the importance of and experience in, involving young leaders in organisational decision making
  • Demonstrable skill and experience in policy development and a sound understanding of the local government legislative framework
  • Programme development experience
  • Appropriate qualification in youth work or; demonstrable experience working with young people
