Works are complete.
The abutments of Omaha bridge were damaged during a recent storm.
Omaha Bridge is situated along on Bruce Road (the road that connects Wanganui Road and Turakina Valley Road), between Glencairn Road and Turakina Valley Road.
The abutments (the substructure at the ends of a bridge span) will be rebuilt with Gabion Baskets - a woven wire mesh baskets that will be filled with rock.
While repairs are undertaken the bridge may be closed and signs will be in place if this occurs.
The work is expected to be completed prior to Christmas. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
