Taihape Water Concerns

Taihape Water Concerns News Image

Council is aware of the concerns some Taihape residents are currently having with their tap water.

Our Water Operations team recently undertook a trial shutdown of the Taihape water pipe system preparing for upcoming pipework replacement. This caused air to become trapped within the pipes, causing air bubbles which has resulted in the tap water appearing 'milky white' when running the tap. While the water looks murky it is safe to drink, and clears when its left in a glass for a while.

Our Water Operations team are now flushing the system to remove any remaining trapped air.

We apologise for this and are working quickly to resolve this issue.
