Monthly Sensory Play Sessions – Coming Soon
Kicking off in July at Memorial Hall, these family-friendly sessions will invite whānau to experience the joy of sensory play together. Dive into an exciting range of equipment like bubble tubes, fibre optics, blackout tents, weighted gear, and more! With the option to come to an open general session, a great chance to connect with others and enjoy some sensory play in an inclusive safe, social setting. Or book a private 30-minute whānau session to explore the sensory space at your own pace, perfect for those who find larger crowds a bit overwhelming.
Sensory Play Pilot Program in Schools
The Marton Community Hub team is excited to partner with 4 local schools to launch a pilot program co-facilitating sensory play zones within their space, designed to support our neurodiverse Tamariki and their support team.
These calming, sensory-rich spaces will rotate between the 4 local schools every two weeks, providing students and teachers with free access to sensory-friendly play and specialized equipment. Once we've refined the program through our 4 test schools, we plan to expand this opportunity to additional schools across the district.
Sensory processing Kits at Your Local Community Hubs & Toy library
All three Community hubs will offer sensory processing backpacks and sensory grab kits filled with carefully chosen sensory tools and sensory toys. Whether you're visiting the hub or borrowing the sensory kit from the Toy Library to use at home, these kits are all about promoting regulation, discovery, and connection in a way that works for everyone.
Let’s play, connect, and celebrate neurodiversity together!
Thank you to JBS Dudding Trust for helping bring to these programmes to life.
