Camp news

The Government recently made Regulations that set out tiered penalties for freedom campers who are guilty of committing an infringement offence on local authority land.

These new penalties will come into force from 13 July 2023. They will replace the default $400 infringement fee.

The Government also made an associated commencement order. This order brings into force from 13 July 2023 the infringement offence related to failing to display a self-containment warrant on a vehicle freedom camping on local authority land.
