Resignation of Southern Ward Cr Jarrod Calkin

Rangitikei District Council would like to advise that Cr Jarrod Calkin has resigned from Council as the Southern Ward Councillor.

Cr Calkin was elected to the Council in October 2022, during which time he has provided a strong and dedicated voice to Council for both the Southern Ward and the Rangitīkei District.
Mayor Andy Watson has voiced his appreciation for Cr Calkin’s dedication to his role, and acknowledged the time and work put into his time with Council, Cr Calkin will be missed at the Council table.
As required by legislation a by-election will be held to fill the vacancy in the Southern Ward. We will advise more about this process as timeframes are confirmed.
