  • Opening of duck Shooting this Weekend

    ​This weekend is the beginning of the duck shooting season. So it’s a timely reminder to ask hunters to apply common sense and adhere to the hunting rules and regulations; treat firearms as loaded; and always identify your target. There are rules around shooting on Council land so all signage should be adhered to. The season runs for three months.

  • Tutaenui Dam Guided Walk

    Take part in the Tutaenui Dam Guided walk which is on, Saturday 4 March, the walk starts at 10.30am. Rangitikei District Council has been working with the Tutaenui Stream Restoration society to explore opportunities for community access to the Tutaenui Reservoirs​ as a walking track. These reservoirs are the water supply for Marton township, have a beautiful bush backdrop, and are close to Marton.

    Early in the morning of Wednesday 18 January 2017 a significant slip occurred in the Rangitikei River south of Mangaweka. Horizons Regional Council have advised there is no current concern for public safety.
