Mangapapa River Slip

Rangitīkei District Council is aware of a slip blocking Mangapapa River upstream of where it meets the Turakina River. Horizons Regional Council is monitoring the situation, and there is no immediate risk to homes or infrastructure.

PFAS Results

In November 2022 the new Water Services Act replaced the current New Zealand Drinking Water Standards to specify the quality standards that needs to be achieve for all drinking water supplies. Testing for PFAS levels in drinking water sources is not included in the current NZ Drinking Water Standards, but is included in the new standards as noted in the Water Services Act. In September 2022, water samples from the Bulls water supply was submitted to an accredited laboratory in Australia for PFAS analysis and returned the following results:
