Friday 4 July | Candidate nominations open and rolls opens for public inspection |
| Thursday 10 July | Ability to switch between Māori roll and General roll closes |
| From Friday 11 July | Election signs (hoardings) can be displayed |
| Friday 1 August | Nominations close at 12 noon, electoral roll closes |
| From Monday 4 August | Public notice of candidates names |
| By Friday 5 September | Electoral Officer compiles and certifies final electoral roll |
| Tuesday 9 September | Delivering of ordinary voting documents starts
Ordinary and special voting opens |
| Tuesday 7 October | Last day for posting vote by mail. After this date votes must be returned to Council's secure ballot boxes |
| Tuesday 9 September - 12 noon Saturday 11 October | Voting period |
Saturday 11 October | Election day - voting closes at 12 noon. Preliminary results available as soon as practicable after close of voting. |
| Wednesday 15 October - Wednesday 22 October (as soon as practicable) | Final results announced.
