Jo Devine has been appointed the new Group Manager for Finance and Business Support. It's a crucial role for Council and one that Chief executive Ross McNeil said Jo was well suited for.

Jo Devine is pleased to be able to return to the Rangitikei in a role that is both challenging but one in which she has more time to pursue hobbies such as cycling.

"I was particularly attracted to the role at Rangitikei District Council as it is a part of New Zealand I love. I was brought up in Whanganui and educated at Massey University. I have spent memorable times on the Rangitikei River and have introduced the region to a number of my friends both in New Zealand and Australia.

I see the Rangitikei as having significant opportunities for economic growth due to its natural beauty, affordability, and as it becomes more accessible from Wellington with the completion of the new roading networks.

On a personal note my interests include cycling- I recently competed in the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge- and my dream is to retire with a Bed and Breakfast along the Rangitikei River."
