Lost Pets

Microchipping

A microchip is a tiny chip with a unique ID number. Smaller than a grain of rice, the chip is inserted under your pet’s skin by a vet or animal control officer. It only takes seconds to insert. The chip can be scanned at vet clinics and animal shelters to identify your pet.

Here is more information on the benefits of microchipping your pet before it goes missing.

There are many organisations that can help you find your missing pet. Here are some ideas you can use:

Post a description and out a picture of your lost pet on your local Neighbourly facebook page/your own facebook page and any other local community facebook pages. There are many people that will help you by "sharing" your post and suggesting other sites for you to look at.

Ring your local radio station and enquire if any pets have been found and tell them about your missing pet.
