    Early in the morning of Wednesday 18 January 2017 a significant slip occurred in the Rangitikei River south of Mangaweka. Horizons Regional Council have advised there is no current concern for public safety.

    The Turning Point – Rangitikei District Council’s Path to Well-being conference for 2017 will be held on Friday 10 February at memorial hall in Marton. Its focus will be a District-wide agenda for community-led development. A key driver for this is the successful settlement over the past ten years in the Rangitikei of Samoan migrant workers.

    The Manawatu and Rangitikei District Councils advise that the bridge has re-opened on schedule at 8:00pm 20 October 2016. The planned replacement of the deck sections 7m from each end has been completed well. However weight, speed and no stopping restrictions apply.
