Our ward structure in 2022

The Rangitīkei District Council election are held tri-annually for the following positions:

  • 1 Mayor
  • 5 Councillors to represent the Central Ward
  • 2 Councillors to represent the Northern Ward
  • 2 Councillors to represent the Southern Ward
  • 1 Councillor to represent Tiikeitia ki Uta (Inland) Māori
  • 1 Councillor to represent Tiikeitia ki Tai (Coastal) Māori
  • 4 Members to represent the Rātana Community Board
  • 4 Members to represent the Taihape Community Board

NORTHERN WARD (represented by 2 Councillors)

The northern ward comprises the areas below, with the largest townships being Taihape, Mangaweka and Utiku.
