District Plan Review
The Rangitīkei District Plan was made operative in 2013, and the only subsequent plan changes have been the miscellaneous plan change in 2016 and the Industrial land zoning at 1165, 1151 and 1091 State Highway 1, Marton.
Council is commencing a section-by-section review of the Rangitīkei District Plan.
Work has started on a plan change that will focus on the Residential and Rural Living zones of the District Plan. Council has completed an efficiency and effectiveness monitoring report for these zones. Research is underway for the plan change and pre-consultation with the community will commence in mid 2025.
Council has also completed an efficiency and effectiveness monitoring report for the Commercial Zone.
