Preschool and playgroups

The Rangitīkei District offers a wide range of options for families with young children, including playgroups, play centres, preschool education providers, parent-and-child classes, and support groups. Search online for what’s available near you, or get in touch with Plunket for support on 0800 692 445. We also have Plunket centres in Bulls, Marton, Taihape, Hunterville or Mangaweka available for visits.

There are several playgroups available, including:

  • Mums and babies playgroup: Marton Library, 31 High Street, on Fridays at 10am - come along for a cup of coffee, a chat and a chance to socialise with your pēpi (baby).
  • Tutaenui playgroup: Cnr Jeffersons Line and Griffins Road Marton - providing a range of toys, equipment, and learning for 0 to 5 year olds.

Before enrolling, it's important to check whether your child’s school has zoning requirements as you may need to live in a certain area to be able to enrol.

School holidays

The Bulls, Marton, and Taihape libraries often hold activities throughout the school holidays.
